The discovery of Giacinto Scelsi’s music was illuminating. His music and writings have been a major inspiration to start my first steps in music. A few years later, while switching my professional life to be a composer and scholar, I dedicated my Master dissertation to his musical langage and compositional strategies. You can read this, in French, on ResearchGate: Le dynamisme dans le statisme. Techniques et stratégies musicales du temps et de la narrativité chez Giacinto Scelsi, Morton Feldman et Steve Reich.
I also made a study of Scelsi’s music in relation to Zen: L’immobilité comme mouvement suprême. Zen et musique chez John Cage et Giacinto Scelsi (in French, this one also speaks of John Cage’s music, and is meant to be published in a book in 2022/2023, so the layout is quite strange, sorry about that).
